Within Erste Liga, Corona Brasov disputed four games in Hungary. The track record looks like this: three victories and one loss. The most important victory was the one after the game with UTE, a contender for Brasov’s team in the playoffs.
“The wolves” won with a clear score: 5-2 (2-0, 2-1, 1-1), the goals being signed by Tranca, E. Mihaly, Zsok, Lidhammar and Carlson.
Corona has successfully achieved two other clear successes in the games against Hokkiklub Budapest, which ended with the score of 7-2 (2-0, 2-0, 3-2) in our team’s favour. The goals were scored by Lidhammar (3), Tendler, G. Biro, Peter B and Molnar Z. Against Vasas, our “wolves” won with 4-1 (2-0, 1-0, 1-1) through Vasile, G. Clarke and Tendler (2).
The loss was against Fehervari Titanok in the first game of the tournament, where the score was 7-2 (0-1, 0-4, 2-2). The goals of Brasov’s team were signed by Molnar Zsolt and Zsok Levente so on the Erste League’s leaderboard, Corona gets the third place with 36 points in 19 games disputed.
“We managed to bring 9 points home after this tournament and to get the third place in the Erste League. We had a terrible second period in the game against Fehervari Titanok, unfortunately, we got three illogical penalties and so, our players did not manage to get back in shape in, even if the game was balanced during the third period but that was certainly not enough in order to win the game. With HokiClub Budapest, we tried to avoid any possible injury and to score as much as possible. This was a good thing especially for the team’s moral. In the game against UTE, we played at face value, winning with 5-2 but unfortunately, we lost Peretiagin and Borisenko in the game with Vasas who were not able to play this time but who will hopefully get back in shape until Thursday when we will play against SC Miercurea Ciuc. The game against Vasas was controlled by us from the very beginning. This time we tried to avoid injuries and suspensions so we did not play to our full potential, but only to get three other points.” – declared Marius Trandafir, the assistant coach of the “wolves”. After four games, the “wolfpack” got back home in order to get ready for the derby against SC Miercurea Ciuc which will take place in Brasov, on the 1st of November. It will count for both national championship and Erste Liga.
