Our team managed to strengthen their attack with one more player: Canadian Zach Franko (26 years old).
Zach Franko is a left winger, is 180 cm. tall and 84 kg. weight.
He was born in Winnipeg (Manitoba Province, Canada) and started hockey with the Winnipeg Monarchs junior team.
He also trained with the Winnipeg Wild and Winnipeg South Blues junior teams.
In 2010, while playing for the Winnipeg South Blues team, he was part of the U17 team “Canada Western” at the “World U17 Hockey Callenge” competition.
From 2010-2014 he made the move to the WHL Canadian Youth League, on the Kelowna Rockets team, where he was one of the best scorers each season.
In September 2011 he was invited to the Detroit Red Wings (NHL) training camp.
In the best season of the Kelowna Rockets, 2012/2013, when he managed to score 72 points (24 goals and 48 assists) he had our current striker Cody Fowlie.
In 2014/2016 he played 2 seasons in the Canadian university league USports, on the team of Arcadia University.
After a break of one season (when he evolved in the Canadian league Chinook HL) he returned – from 2017 – in the Canadian university league to the University of Manitoba team, where he spent two seasons.
He stepped into professional hockey in the second half of last season, when he was in the squad for two teams in the US professional league ECHL: Idaho Steelheads and Greenville Swamp Rabbits.
This season he started at Huntsville Havoc (SPHL) and after only 4 games was loaned by the Norfolk Admirals (ECHL).
At Norfolk Admirals had a very good start to the season, scoring 7 points in 8 games (5 goals and 2 assists).
He was convinced by the offer of our team to join the “wolves” for the rest of the season and will debut in our jersey at the Romanian Cup.
