Matyas Kovacs, last time in the German team
Herforder EV (Oberliga), signed a contract with our club. Born in Romania but “raised” in German hockey since 2012 (from the age of 15), he holds “dual citizenship” (both Romanian and German).
In Germany he was trained in the junior and youth teams of the club
Krefelder EV 1981 but he also represented
Romania both in the “European Youth Olympic Festival – 2013” and in the U18 national team (twice, both in 2013 as well as in 2015).
Since 2015 he transferred to the U19 team of the German club
Hamburger SV (HSV Young Freezers U19) and in the seasons 2016/2017 and 2017/2018 he made the step to the senior team of the Hamburgers (who played in the German IV league ).
In the 2018/2019 season he transferred to
Herforder EV to play in the “Oberliga”.
In the 2019/2020 season he returned to
Krefelder EV, where he also played in the “Oberliga” and where he managed an excellent season, scoring 27 points in 44 games.
Following very good evolutions he was brought back to
Herforder EV, where he played all last season and where he scored 26 points in 40 games (11 goals and 15 “assists”).
Now he decided to return to
Romania and chose to sign a contract with our club
He is a young, talented and serious striker, trained in the last 9 years in a very demanding and strong hockey and we hope to make his mark on our team’s game.
