Tonight, the 7th game of the quarterfinals between Corona “Wolves” Brașov and the Hungarian team Opten Vasas took place on the Brașov Olympic Ice Rink.
Our boys mobilized exemplary and managed to win the game and thus qualify for the semifinals of the Erste League.
Corona “Wolves” Brașov – Opten Vasas: 4-2 (0-0, 2-1, 2-1).
The first period was balanced but neither team managed to score.
In the second one, the “wolves” unleashed themselves.
In the 29th minute, Cody Fowlie managed to open the score, taking advantage of an attack carried out in numerical superiority (being assisted by Josh McFadden and Carlo Finucci).
In the 32nd minute, Carlo Finucci managed to increase the score, after a lightning attack in which Cody Fowlie and Pavlo Borysenko also participated.
Towards the end of the period, the guests reduced the difference, through the striker Mark Nagy, who took advantage of a numerical superiority.
After two periods: Corona “Wolves” Brașov – Opten Vasas: 2-1.
In the third period, the “wolves” entered the ice with the idea of winning and qualifying for the semifinals. And they managed to keep the result until the minute 56’03 “when the guests equalized, benefiting from a numerical superiority (scored the striker Kristóf Schmal).
But the wolves did not give up and, in the 58’30”, captain Roberto Gliga managed to score an exceptional goal, being assisted by Tomas Klempa.
Until the end of the game, the “wolves” scored once more, in minute 59’02 “, through Radim Valchar (with the empty net).
For the “wolves” follows the semifinal against the Hungarian team DEAC.
