Corona Brasov lost the Russian player Yuri Petrov who will be replaced by the Canadian Mark Lee. After only a few games played in Corona’s jersey, the Russian Yuri Petrov got an advantageous contract offer in KHL and found a lot of understanding in order to go and play in one of the most valuable championships in the world, at Admiral Vladivostok.
Regarding this situation, the president of the ice hockey department in Brasov, Emilian Cernica declared: “ I understood Petrov, a valuable player who found a team in KHL where he will get a really good salary. His agent in Europe was really thankful for the understanding and for the fact that he was let to go where he wished the most, letting a door open for new collaboration in the future.”
The management of the team in Brasov moved fast after this event and transferred the Canadian Mark Lee who will arrive in Brasov in the first days of the next year. Lee plays as forward, he is 34 years old, 1,82m tall and weights 86 kilograms. Last season, he played in Alps Hockey League scoring 8 goals in 16 games played for Stezing-Vipiteno. He has a big experience by playing in powerful championships in Europe due to the fact that he played a long time in Liiga of Finland for SaiPa or Ilves, in DEL from Germany at Schwenninger Wild Wings or in the first league of Denmark. As for championships from overseas, he played in AHL and also in ECHL.
