Tamas Gajdo joins the pack

🏒

A very good product of Brasov hockey in recent years, defender Tamas Gajdo, has entered among the professional players of the Corona Brasov club. Tamas Gajdo – who turned 18 on July 30 – joined the other players raised in Corona Brașov’s youth groups and who signed professional players contracts with the senior team (Iulian Chițac, Cosmin Agapie, Andrei Haraga, Balazs Gajdo and Andrei Basil).

Tamas is a native of Târgu Secuiesc, where he started hockey for young age. He joined Corona Brașov and trained in U16 (where his older brother – Balazs – was already a basic player in the club’s youth teams).

Due to the special qualities he was noted by the coaches of the senior team and made his debut in the National Championship at the age of 16 (minimum age established by regulation), in the 2016/2017 season. In fact, he played for both Romanian national youth teams – participating in World Championship groups with the U18 and U20 national teams.

He was also noted by the coach of Romania’s national senior team – Julius Penzes – and was part of the team for the friendly tournament held in Ukraine – in Brovary – in February this year. It was played in the tournament in both games (wins against Ukraine and Poland) and paid very well for the tasks. Which is why, this season, the player 183 cm. and 83 kg. will enter among the professional players of our team and will be a player that coach Julius Penzes will rely on both the National Championship and the Erste League.

Another young player who trains with the senior team during this period is Rareș Vasile (16 years). Rareș is Andrei Vasile’s younger brother, he already made his debut for the senior team last season (3 matches – 1 goal and a decisive pass) and he was also included in the senior team’s program for the next season where he is guided and monitored by to Julius Penzes.
